Oneness University, India
Settled majestically at the foothills of the Vellikonda range on the eastern coast of South India, 80km north of the city of Chennai (Madras); lies the Oneness University, Campuses 1-4. Together, along with the campuses of the Golden City 1 and 2 (where the Oneness Temple resides), these comprise what is collectively referred to as the Oneness University, India.
The Oneness University was established in 2002 by co-founders Sri Bhagavan and his wife, Sri Amma. They are the inspiration, power and the wisdom behind this one-of-a-kind University. It was founded to create individuals who can begin to live in a naturally awakened state - a state often referred to as Oneness. Bringing about this collective shift in human consciousness is possible only when each individual begins to awaken to themselves, to their true Source. As we begin to awaken individually, we awaken collectively. This is the mission of the Oneness University - a passion to "set man free."
Each year thousands of people come from around the world to attend the Oneness University. At any one time it is not uncommon to see attendees from Europe, North America, Central America, South America, Russia, Asia, Middle East, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, etc. The Oneness University has also hosted dignitaries such as actors, politicians, business magnates, religious leaders, authors, musicians, scientists and even heads of state.
About the Courses - Balanced approach towards learning and growth
Two courses (also called “Processes”) are held at the Oneness University – Level 1 Course (“Doors to Awakening”) and Level 2 Course (“Oneness – Awakening”). Oneness Process participants are taught using four basic principles: Teaching and Contemplation, Practical Application, Meditation, and Divine Benediction (the Oneness Blessing). In the material realm growth is often perceived as success, prosperity and physical well-being. In the psychological realm higher levels of growth promote constructive perceptions, greater love in relationships and a sense of freedom from our fears and past conditioning. And in the spiritual realm growth is translated as ability to experience every moment of life completely, with an ever-deepening sense of connectedness with the universe and the Divine. This then leads to a continuous process of learning and growth in all spheres of life.
It is inspiring to observe what is transpiring at the Oneness University, the rate at which people are attending the Level 1 Oneness Process, hungry for something more real than what our ordinary materially-oriented tunnel-vision lives offer, and eager to be of service to all sentient beings. More and more people are feeling the stirring in their hearts of a world in transition, and soon, in complete transformation. People are waking up, getting in touch with their heart and a deeper sense of belonging to the family of humanity and the larger universe. This growing sensibility has the power to make the difference in the world we are all looking for.
A Place for Personal Experience
The University does not propagate any one particular belief, dogma, religion or spiritual path. The underlying concept behind each of the courses and activities is the wisdom as expressed in Sri Bhagavan’s words "Truth, however profound, when it is not yours still remains untruth." Accordingly, the University aims to put each individual in touch with the truth of his/her own faith via the medium of personal experience. Thus, when we speak of God, we mean coming face to face with God. When we speak of relationships we do not talk of having love or the lack of it, but are interested in discovering Love itself. When we speak of knowledge it is not speculative or metaphysical but direct insights that alter consciousness and lead to profound joy and happiness.
The Oneness Temple
The Oneness Temple - a temple for all religions - is situated in the Golden City. Totally embracing all benefits, its mammoth three floor marble structure, is Asia's largest hall without pillars, where 8000 people can meditate together at one time.
Visitors are welcome to visit The Temple and experience the Divine in a manner consistent with their own religion, with their own beliefs about God (please contact our office for information on the dates when the temple is open to westerner visitors). This simple, universal approach will then begin to influence the field of consciousness around the world, helping to uplift humanity into the Golden Age of Oneness.
